New York City’s public beaches are now open for swimming on Saturday, May 25, and remain open through Sunday, September 8, 2024. Lifeguards will be on duty daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Swimming is unsafe and strictly prohibited at all other times!
The beaches reopening on Memorial Day weekend include Jones Beach, Robert Moses and Sunken Meadow State Parks in Long Island, Coney Island and Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, Cedar Grove Beach in Staten Island, and Orchard Beach in the Bronx.
